  • What is discussed in the free consultation?
In your complimentary 15-minute consultation, we'll delve into the core reasons behind your interest in therapy. This initial meeting isn't a full session; rather, it's an opportunity to address any immediate concerns or questions you may have while also giving you insight into my therapeutic approach and techniques. This brief conversation serves as a chance for us to start building a foundation of trust and understanding. You'll have the opportunity to share your goals and expectations for therapy, allowing me to better tailor our sessions to your needs. Establishing mutual comfort and rapport from the outset is essential. By the end of our consultation, we'll both have a clearer understanding of whether we're a good fit to embark on your journey towards emotional well-being together.
  • Do you offer direct billing?
I will provide you with a receipt after each session to submit to your insurance provider.
  • How do I pay?
Fees are due at the beginning of each session. I have streamlined the process via the JaneApp where you can securely pay by credit card.
  • What if I am running late or struggling to connect to the virtual platform?
If you find yourself running a few minutes behind schedule or anticipate being late, feel free to drop me an email. It helps ease any concerns I might have while waiting for our session. I understand that sometimes the anticipation of connecting can be overwhelming or anxiety-inducing. Rest assured, you're welcome to join our call without turning on your video, or simply chat to help ease into our session. If you prefer, you can also reach out via email to let me know what's going on, and we can switch to a phone appointment if that works better for you.
  • How many sessions will I need?
Every individual's journey is unique! The number of sessions required varies from person to person. However, many clients often notice feelings of growth, relief, and/or change within the initial six sessions. If, after this initial period, you don't experience improvement in your overall wellbeing, we'll have a discussion about the way forward. This might involve adjusting my approach to better suit your needs or providing referrals to other services that could be more beneficial for you.
  • How should I prepare for the first session?
Between the 15-minute consultation and your initial session, kindly take a moment to complete the intake form and review the provided consent paperwork. Prior to the first appointment, please ensure that you are in a private, quiet, and secure environment for our virtual session, whether conducted by phone or on the virtual platform. This will foster an atmosphere conducive to meaningful and confidential dialogue. In our session, we will further acquaint ourselves, explore your concerns more deeply, and discuss any goals or desired outcomes you may have already identified. I eagerly anticipate our session together!
